Care should be taken when installing any switchboard.
The use of multi stranded cables without the proper tool can, result in a situation that may result in serious injury or death.
Copper strands, however the fine strands associated with exible cable in particular, are under the minimum size requirements of Forms of Separation within a switchboard. Forms of separation in AS/NZS 61439 are referenced under AS 60529, as IP2X or IPxxB. This distance, is a holes of no more than 12.5mm A knife or any other form of uncontrolled cutting blade during cable installation will invalidate the warranty of this switchboard.
It is also brought to your attention, Section 8 of AS/NZS 3000
8.1.2 Requirements
Prior to placing an electrical installation, or any part thereof, in service following construction, alteration, addition or repair thereof, it shall be veri ed, as far as practicable, that the installation is safe to energize and will operate correctly in accordance with the requirements of this Standard.
8.2 VISUAL INSPECTION
8.2.1 General
A visual inspection shall be made when work on an electrical installation has been completed in order to verify that the work complies with the requirements of this Standard. The visual inspection shall be carried out before, or in association with, testing and should, where practicable, be made before the relevant part of the electrical installation is placed in service.
It is a requirement of compliance of Section 8 to visually inspect the internal bus bars compartments and other chambers within this switchboard.
Failure to do so will invalidate the warranty of this switchboard.
